Shop Local – A Peek at Boutiques, Vol. 1

 

Don’t you love happy accidents? Like finding a twenty in the back pocket of jeans that you haven’t worn since last season. Makes me feel like I’ve won something every.single.time!

One of those happy accidents occurred to me a few weeks ago when I was starving after showing homes near the Walton Ferry peninsula in Sumner County. I stopped to eat at a fabulous-and-rather-hidden spot in Hendersonville (more on that spot in another post!), and I overheard someone talking about a cute little boutique that was right next door. So, despite the fact that I had just stuffed myself way more than I probably should’ve, I decided to stop in because I wanted to check it out. I am so, so glad I did! I’m talking about Shannon’s Boutique located at 706 W Main St. in Hendersonville.

When boutique shopping, I expect to find a mix of great style, a good variety (but limited quantities) of items, and a quaint atmosphere. Add to that a friendly staff AND reasonable prices and you’ve got yourself a rare find! This sums up what Shannon’s Boutique is all about. At Shannon's, you will find a nice variety of apparel (tops, sweaters, t-shirts, jeans, dresses), shoes & booties, jewelry, accessories, and other gift-able items as well. The ladies are beyond helpful; they’ll even take your info & notify you when an out-of-stock item comes in, or in my case what I wanted wasn’t in stock in my size… no problem! I’ll get a call or text as soon as it arrives. Woot!

So, how did my first trip to Shannon’s tally up you ask? I ended my excursion with 2 pairs of jeans, a necklace and a great little going-out bag—and all without blowing my budget. You must stop by and visit Shannon and her adorable store next time you’ve got a few minutes to shop—you won’t regret it!

I’m the first one to support local and independently owned businesses, and when they provide a great overall experience, I want to make sure to tell everyone I know about it. Happily, many new places seem to be popping up in this area of Nashville since the real estate market is experiencing so much growth; I have much to discover and will write about all my special findings in the future!
