NASHVILLE BRUNCH BLOG – MIDTOWN CAFE

In the heart of Mid-Town sits a little gem known as the Midtown Cafe.  Midtown was a participant in Nashville Restaurant Week.

We recently took a field trip for lunch from our office on Music Row and walked over, because we are just a few short blocks from there.  Upon our arrival, we found to our surprise that Midtown Cafe actually serves “Brunch” every weekday from 7:00 am-2:30 pm, as well as serving lunch to Nashville patrons.

This quaint, and super crowded lunch spot has a lovely selection of all things “Brunch” and “Lunch”, so for those of you that can't get enough of our absolute favorite meal of the week on just the weekend, Midtown Cafe has something for you!

Our servers were knowledgeable about each dish and very friendly.  That's really important in this town of ever-growing eateries and a land full of foodies.

We started with Midtown's signature biscuits and butter.  So Tasty!!

If you've read any of my other features, you know that I have to try Egg's Benedict when I'm visiting a new spot.  Midtown did not disappoint with their “Fried Green Tomato Benedict”. On its own, it is even low-carb for those who are counting that sort of thing these days.

Served with a side of a Southern staple Grits and Fresh Asparagus…One Word – YUM!!

I had to dig right in – and forgot to get my photo prior!

The Benedict had a close contender……..wait for it…………

Creme Brulee French Toast with Jack Daniels Peach syrup and whipped cream, what-the-what!  You heard me right and this thing had our heads spinning it was so delicious!

Of course, we ordered a side of bacon to make sure that we got some protein. 🙂

SO here's the story……

They start with Challah Bread (pronounced hallah) which is an egg bread. Very special bread in Jewish cuisine, usually braided and typically eaten on ceremonial occasions such as Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.  For this dish, it is soaked in the most delicious Creme Brulee egg batter seasoned with a little cinnamon and fried up on the griddle to perfection.

Midtown gets 2 thumbs up from the CHORD Real Estate crew, and we can't wait for our next brunch date to Midtown Cafe.
